welcome to the official site of the great (off) whites club!

Hey, everybody, welcome to the official site of the official UHS Marine Bio Club, the Pelagic Penguins!

This website is a great resource for everyone, especially if you can't get to the meetings every week. We'll do our best to have Friday's minutes posted by Monday (if they're not, don't sue me - I go to UHS, too) and we'll be sure to have the upcoming events updated as soon as we know. Also, we have a lovely bulletin board on this site, built for the especial use of our members, sponsors, advisors, and officers. If you have a message, please email it to me (adelinealyce@hotmail.com) and I'll post it.

Just to kinda explain what the heck our club is, we are a group of semi-normal penguins who really like the oceans. We meet weekly (Friday advisory in Blondeau's) and discuss current marine bio political issues and scientific discoveries, participate in conservation efforts, and go on fun trips (this year, we have planned a snorkeling trip to Mexico in the spring, and we've already gone to the U of A's Marine Discovery Labs).

Keep in mind, you don't have to go to every meeting. Heck, if you make it to one meeting a month we'll all be happy. Just know that we'll always be doing something cool, and I promise there will always be FREE FOOD (brownies, cookies, popcorn, soda, the list of possibilities is endless - it all depends on how much time your lovely officers have).

So look around, post a message, check out the upcoming stuff............ If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or (God forbid) complaints, just email me or call me (275-9548) or talk to me at school. Have fun and happy surfing!

Oh yeah - P.S. If you want to be one of our many "email buddies" or want to join the mailing list, email me your address and you'll get a lovely update every Tuesday about what has happened, is happening, and will happen in the near and far future with the club.  This applies to you poor members who never get the emails - sorry, your addresses have been lost to the depths of our too-heavy backpacks.  Send us your emails again and we'll try not to lose 'em.  Okay, 'nuff said, go surf.
